Northwest Rollersports Cic

Went today 30th Dec 2023, myself, wife and our 7 year old. Price was very good, location very easy to get to, facilities were great to and clean. Not been on roller skates since approximately 1980 and I couldn't do it at all, just clung to the side and worked myself around. A lovely lady called Lorriane who works there showed us a few basics and encouraged us. We managed to skate round the rink. The music was great to. We have a fantastic experience and will definitely be going again.

I have visited here twice now and had 2 completely opposite experiences. First time I visited was 2021. My cousin hired the entire place in the evening. The staff were nice, it was chilled. No one needed to pay for skate hire. It was such a great night with family and friends. ***** 5 stars for that visit. Second time was at a child's party. Cannot remember which staff would have been their the first time, could of completely changed for all I know but there was guy who was quite abrupt/ rude on 2 occasions. I don't feel like he should be in a customer facing role but he's probably the owner. Despite the skate hire desk telling me it's £3 to hire the skates when I went to pay the guy tried to charge me £8 which was £3 skate hire and £5 admission? Considering I already had admission granted for the party anyway and all I wanted was to hire the skates to actually allow my 5 year old son to participate on the big rink is a bit of a joke and that 'policy' needs to be reviewed. I was trying to get my daughter to come off the big rink; I was outside of the gate on to the rink and had a completely sealed bottle of pop in my hand. Then some jobs worth came skating on over to me and told me that I couldn't drink in that area.. I wasn't drinking and I never was going to. I just don't appreciate being spoken to as if I'm a naughty child. I give that visit 2 stars and that was for the couple of staff that were actually OK in the cafe.
